About Dampers & Feet
Nyfast.co.uk sell s six different types of dampers that all fulfill a similar type of function. Dampers are used to soften the opening and closing motion of a door or latch for electronic goods. The idea of the damper is to provide a smooth and efficient motion for this purpose. There are clip in solely dampers. Ther are a number of different type of screw down damper suitable for each sort of enclosure. The dampers are manufactured with different gearing to suit the dampers application. If the application as to demand more torque and a slower sclosure speed one wouls select a damper with fewer teeth, so the damper is effectively geared down. On the other hand if one was to utilise a higher geared or a damper with a greater amount of teeth, the speed of opening and closure of the damper would increase but the damper would have less torque. Nyfast's dampers are colour coded allowing easy identification of the dampers torque.
Elastomer feet are usually attached by push or snap rivet. The application for attaching the feet to the body of the appliance is by drilling a suitable hole and the snap rivet then is driven through the foot and into the hole to provide a secure fixing for the elastomer foot. These type of feet are found on all sorts of electrical appliances from computers through to printers and scanners. The simple and fast method of securing the feet to the appliance makes for great cost savings during appliance manufacture and the feet provide good resistance to vibration and movement. The lastomer feet also prevent scuffing to surface by the appliance.
